Civics
In civics we learn about regional autonomy. We read so many text about it (definition, examples, rules, etc). Than we're given an assignment to identify the advantage and disadvantage of regional autonomy in a certain article from a region. So my region is Nigeria, and below is the article and given the advantage and disadvantage of regional autonomy in Nigeria.
THE REGIONAL AUTONOMY OPTION: Nigeria
As a way out of the crises of nationhood confronting Nigeria since independence, prominent Nigerians and ethnic groupings are making a case for regional autonomy.
Proponents of regional autonomy as a veritable option for restructuring the country have argued that such will create strong regions with a weak central administration. It will also make the centre unattractive and thereby reduce the political rivalry and competition that are threatening the nation's corporate existence.
It is their contention that Nigeria fared better under the regional governments of the 1960s. The Eastern Region was remarkably noted for its palm oil wealth, the Western Region was reputed for its cocoa plantations while the Northern Region held sway with its groundnut pyramids. The Mid-West Region, which was created through an Act of parliament in 1963, was known for its rubber plantations.
Due to each region's reliance on its agricultural potentials, Nigeria's economy was rated among the best in developing countries. Unarguably, the country under regional governments was stable until the military intervened in 1966.
Perhaps, those calling for a return to regional autonomy base their argument on the logic that Nigeria was better organized and governed under the regions than the present arrangement where virtually all the states of the federation solely depend on federal allocation for their sustenance.
Before the current agitation for regional autonomy, some Nigerians had called for a Sovereign National Conference, where the ethnic nationalities will dialogue on the future of the country. While some Nigerians still insist on the desirability of such a conference, others are moving for regional autonomy as an option worth exploring.
Nobel Laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka, lent his voice to the call at the recent economic summit of the South-South states held in Asaba, Delta State, when he advocated for regional autonomy as a way of restructuring the country. Under the new arrangement, the regions will manage their affairs and resources and contribute an agreed sum to the central government.
Similarly, governors of South-South States in their communiqué at the end of the summit also moved for regional autonomy. Northern Christians under the umbrella of Northern States Christian Elders Forum (NORCEF) have also endorsed regionalism as the best option for Nigeria. They want the country segmented into a six-regional structure. Essentially then, it would appear from the foregoing that regional autonomy is very well received by Nigerians. However, what is not yet clear is how the regions will emerge if the various zones of the country accept the idea. But regardless of how the regions will come to be and other issues, it appears that regional autonomy holds the ace for the future of this tottering nation that seems to be on the brink of collapse.
Nigerians talk about regional autonomy with nostalgia because the regions worked in the past. Since Nigeria is a federation, the best political arrangement for the federating units is to embrace true federalism. True federalism, which encompasses fiscal federalism, will allow each region to develop at its own pace. No region will retard the progress of the other.
We think that a truly run federal system of government is best suited for a country with diverse peoples, languages, religions and cultures. Regionalism can equally encourage bonding within the regions and between regions as well.
It therefore behoves government to consider these agitations and make something meaningful out of them. Government may do well to consider the call by NORCEF for the convocation of a national conference where the details of the arrangement will be worked out. It is obvious that the present arrangement is not working. Government must therefore take steps to meet the people's wishes and aspirations.
Advantage: Among best in developing countries
Nigeria economy’s was rated among the best in countries. Nigeria is actually still the country under the regional country. It makes Eastern and Western region to be impressed or interested on Nigeria with their wealth. That statement that makes Nigeria to be able to developed their country.
Disadvantage: weak central administration
After the Nigeria is in crisis countries argued Nigeria create strong regions with a weak central administration. It makes other regions unattractive, so it reduce politics of other regions and it’s threatening the nation’s corporate that would damage their politics and government system.

above is the score as a group in this assignment, but there are individuals scores and mine is written 6/8
Reflection
So when we read the book about regional autonomy we aware of the information based from the role of regional government. We analyse first the information given. Than we identify the uses of regional autonomy in different regions to let people know what other countries or city regional autonomy looks like. Than in the test we reflect by describing the responsibilities of regional government, so if one day we are apart of the government we know what to do.
AOI
From this activity it could relate to CAS by communicating with my friends because this work is a group work. Individually I could get good score for this but no. Because my group members didn't do well on certain point. That makes me realize what are their weaknesses and in the future I would interact with my member of group to improve in the future so not to troublesome other scores.
