Humanities
In humanities we learn about UN and WWF. There are a lot of speeches we should make for a better resolution in some country. We are all assigned as pair and each pair has different country, my country is Argentina. There are couples of speeches I should make about Argentina. The major speech I made are the resolution of deforestation in Argentina and the resolution suggested by Argentina against SARS.
The teacher didn't tell us the score but then the teacher gave a comment and the comment to me is: "that was very good" after I've done my speech.
So here is the speech towards the resolution of deforestation, and some key points of suggestions by Argentina against SARS.
RESOLUTION SUBMITTED BY: ARGENTINA
What are the forest problems Argentina, why, where and since when has it been happening?
Concerning: the forests problem in Argentina,
The WWF
Recalling the 1947 UN formation of the state of Argentina following the end of World War Two,
Concerned by threatening plant and animal communities. This linked with an increasing demand for suitable land for soy cropping
Noting that no action has been taken on this issue by the WWF
Regretful Research in Argentina has shown that deforestation due to agricultural expansion of soybean is threatening Chaco ecoregion and Yungas cloud forest (a major regional group of distinctive animal and plant communities)
Recalling the 16 million ha of trees that is cut down from the year 1980 - 2000
Noting that the disappearance of forests being at least estimated 33 million remain hectares of forest. Animals are getting either endangered or extinct. Habitats are destroyed
Emphasizing the need to resolve this conflict, especially the current world environment,
Further Noting When FVSA associated with WWF they joint campaigns, arrange global actions and receive financial backup for executing programs and projects. They also exchange information and news on a periodical basis about environmental issues
Condemning any state that attempts to prohibit or interfere with the environmental mission of the FVSA,
1. Calls for the immediate cessation of civil in the Argentina area to allow time for the environment given better resolution.
2. Proposes the creation of a ways to resolve of plants and animal communities and the demand for suitable land for soy cropping
3. ;
i. Arrange global actions
ii. Receive financial backup for executing programs and projects
4. Expresses its wish that the UN will help state of Argentina protect forest from deforestation .
5. Decides that a provisional deadline of the 10th July 2013 be set for the final completion of this process.
6. Demands that given the supreme importance of this issue, The Government including WWF will act immediately towards the laws resolving environmental issues
SARS
- Respiratory illness
- SARS occurs either in a person with fever or respiratory symptoms)
- Given air from someone with SARS through coughs or sneezes droplets
- Contact with person’s body
SARS treatment:
- People with severe cases of SARS will be hospitalized immediately.
- The hospital has the complete equipment to lower fever or ease breathing. That uses the supplemental oxygen and drugs called the bronchodilators which open airways to let SARS virus out
SARS protection
- An N-95 respirator is one of nine types of disposable particulate respirators.
- Air purifies air
- They protect by filtering particles out of the air as you breathe.
- These respirators protect only against particles (bacteria or viruses)
SARS prevention
- Hygiene

Reflection
So I think I did really well in making and doing the speech because I did put much effort by researching it throughout many different sites from the internet. So overall I think me and my pair success this task because we work hard to find as many resources we need in order to make the speech. The teacher is also satisfied with our speech since we give a lot of useful information which includes evidence, background, resolution and more.
This relates health and social education because we're being a social group by listening to each others speech to know some resolutions or suggestion from different countries. This really educates us because most of us doesn't know anything about UN so by communicating through the speech can educate them about the problems UN and WWF are facing with the resolution and suggestion each country make.
