Journal 6
At the 31st of July I went to my dad’s office because my target audience or clients are the workers including my dad because I’m designing a future design for their new working place. I asked about their comfort, environment, and satisfaction. As I asked the workers some said the place is too cramped for such many workers it should had more space. But some that work in a private is comfortable enough because they got a lot of space but then their comfort towards the environment is different, because their windows are not big and they said it would be better to have a big window to look outside. Some also said the place was too dark for a working place, as I investigate there’s not much both artificial and natural light so it is really lack of light. Lack of light is a big issues in a working place, because many office should have a very bright light too work comfortably. The building also doesn’t really look interesting from the outside but then it is the right placing because it fits with the other building surrounds it. So I’m planning to design the building in a more open area so I can design a bigger building and make it more attractive. I would also design more windows, probably windows that can come down to floor for more natural light from outside and more lamps possibly using LED lights to reduce energy consumption. I would improve the space and create a more comfortable environment with a modern style also so mentally the workers could work better. In conclusion most issues from my dad’s working place would be space and light. In addition I would think about the sustainability or environmental friendly, which could be by adding green roof, using sustainable element or material which brings heat and cooling down easier (carbon neutral design), and more basically to reduce carbon footprint

Interview
Questions:
1. Is it better to renovate or rebuild the office?
2. Is there any limit of budget in my project?
3. What can I design to improve the office?
4. Are you satisfied with the current office?
5. Rate 1-10 of your current office
6. Why didn’t you renovate, rebuild, or make any change in past years to the office
7. What are the expectations?
Response:
1. Rebuilding the office would be easier, because this is such a cramped place and there’s not many space to renovate
2. You don’t need to worry about the budget, use as much money you want for the design building
3. Larger office, with a better environment
4. I am satisfied enough but probably giving some improvement would be better
5. 7/10
6. Because we are satisfy enough, and doesn’t seems we’re interested to have new office, but we would accept offers.
7. The building should be functional meets the client needs, and it should be better than the old office

Conclusion
From the picture above its my inspiration on designing my target office. Why? Because based from my survey towards the client I thing this design suits their needs. So I would make something similar like this, the picture above its just an example to show visuals of the office I can think of to design for my client.
This office sure looks modern and it uses glass or window walls, thermal comfort and low sound can be justified during the creation where using the direction of air and system in the building to provide thermal comfort, and using floors like carpets to absorb sound.
The office will be given enough space, in the picture in my opinion it doesn't have enough space, so I would justify it and have a bigger space. Since the wall would be mostly windows which give much artificial light from the sunlight.
I'm planning also to have a green architecture which probably I would have green roof with plants and it could also be on the ground, or a roof water using the principle of vaporization to cool buildings.
Inside the building my target is to have a big space between workers and to have spaces also for users to walk. The artificial light will produce many lights since I would use big glasses or windows, and I would also have many lights inside the building for backing up the artificial lights.
Specifications
Comfort consist of: thermal comfort, low sound, big space.
Green architecture: light (artificial lights), earth (roof or ground plant), water (roof water).
Inside building: big space between workers, big windows.
Structure: similar to the picture above

Evaluation
a.How the information suited to the project? (Coverage)
Does the information help me respond to the inquiry question? Yes it does because this help me to meet the user needs
Does the information belong to my topic? Yes because its about making a good building as an architect
Will the information help me to develop my project product? Yes it does, this way I can be more specific in meeting the user needs
Does the information connect clearly with the area of interaction or aspects of it? yes it does because I would think creative in meeting the user needs
B.Is the information source reliable (Authority)? Where does the information come from? Yes it is reliable, because the people I interview had work in my dad's working place for at least more than two years so they would know much thing about what they really need.
C.is the information accurate ? Can the information be verified in another source? it is accurate, because there are many answers that are the same
D.Is the information up-to-date? (Currency) Is the information current or still valuable if it is older? Yes it is because I didn't interview them 5 years ago
E.Is the information objective/not biased ? (Objectivity) Yes it is
F.What information do I still need? I think i have enough information from the client, but for some addition I would need to improvise and add more specifications to the building
G.What new questions does my research bring? What additions would be the best for a good building
